Little Biography about yourself

“My name is Jennifer Oguejiofor, I am from Nigeria and currently living In Moscow,Russia. I was born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria , and lived there until I was 17. Then I moved to Moscow, where I’ve spent most of my life.,I am a Doctor, painter, creative director & a makeup artist. I grew up in a traditional Goal driven parents which gave me lots of opportunities and equipped me to do most things. Which is why I’m a Medical Doctor, painter, creative director. I started out as a makeup artist back in 2018 when I first moved here and now almost a decade later a lot has changed and will still change.”

-What makes you happier — finishing a great painting, or nailing a great outfit?

“Bothhhhh honestly Without a good outfit, I can’t be me And finishing a great painting is every painters dream”

Your style has an elegant tomboy edge. What draws you to masculine silhouettes ?— and how do you make them yours?

“I already have a well defined features, so honestly I don’t really have to do too much when it comes to clothes and I figured out at an early age that boys clothes are just way more comfortable and stylish without having to do too much, so I guess it just kind of stuck with me. I did used to design my outfits when I was younger and I also got to play around with different styles of clothing quite early on, so somewhere along the line my personal style was created ”

What does "having style" mean to you?Is style about what you wear, what it costs, or how you wear it?

“The way I see it is your style is your armor and how you would like the world to view you. In my case it’s ever so changing but my base is usually comfortable, the basics. I like to focus on having staple pieces and then working around them.”

Your paintings often feel dark, emotional, even unsettling. Where does that come from?

“Feelings gotta go somewhere doesn’t it? I found putting mine in paintings helps and i honestly do love the color black But the way i see it, I’m drawn to understanding and depth. A rose doesn’t start out beautiful and all colorful, it starts growing in dirt and that’s how life is. So I paint depth not really darkness. It just happens depth is always associated to darkness & light”
